Situated 40 Km from Denpasar, capital of Bali province, or some 20-30 minutes drive from the vibrant Kuta Beach, lies Bali’s most artfully designed high class beach resort along a vast stretch of picturesque coastline. This is Nusa Dua, a sparklingly prestigious, sprawling enclave of international luxury hotels, deluxe spas, exclusive golf courses, and world class convention centers, that was purposely built to present the beauty of the island wrapped in exclusive luxury.
Designed to be an ‘all-inclusive’ tourist destination, Nusa Dua encompasses a total area of 350 hectares. The entire estate has a postcard perfect clean, dream-like, tropical paradise feeling about it that makes it popular with both convention goers and honeymooners. Here hotels are built no higher than the coconut trees. The crystal clear shallow waters and the pearly soft white sandy beaches surrounding Nusa Dua make it a perfect place to have fun for all members of the family or for tired conference delegates to relax, go swimming and return completely reinvigorated and re-inspired.
Nusa Dua is really about enjoying your leisure time in total luxury. As most of the sumptuous hotels and facilities are found here, every indulgence and comfort are at your disposal. Among the hotels and resorts found here are: The Westin Resort, Grand Bali Hyatt Bali, St.Regis Bali Resort, The Laguna Resort & Spa, Nikko Bali Resort & Spa, and more. There are also the top five golf courses in Asia, the Bali Golf and Country Club, an immaculately landscaped 18 holes ocean view course and the Bali International Lawn Tennis & Lawn Bowls Club next to the Galleria Nusa Dua a spacious shopping mall with boutiques and up market restaurants. Tee off into the sunset as the waves calmly embrace the shore or relax in ocean view swimming pools that will surely offer its own special sensation.
Situated just over 20 minutes from the brand new Ngurah Rai International Airport , passing the toll road over the sea, Nusa Dua is also acknowledged as an ideal integrated venue for international conventions and exhibitions. Among the many international conventions successfully held at Nusa Dua were the 2013 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit which was attended by world leaders and delegates, and the Miss World Pageant.
The most comprehensive Convention centers in Nusa Dua are the Bali International Convention Centre (BICC) and the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC). The BICC has large, well equipped and most flexible conference and exhibition facilities on Bali. BICC also offers an exclusive bonded warehouse that greatly facilitates custom clearance and delivery. While, prepared for the ASEAN Summit and the East Asia Summit in November 2011, the new BNDCC covers an impressive 70,000 sq.m garden landscape with breathtaking Balinese architecture, including a total 25,000 sq.m building areas, that are all integrated to create a complete infrastructure for any kind of events.
The integrated tourist enclave of Nusa Dua is developed and managed under the Bali Tourism Development Center (BTDC), a statutory company established by the Indonesian government in 1973. As part of the Bali Tourism Development Master Plan, the Nusa Dua Project is an integrated tourism area and accommodation estate, purposely set apart from the local Balinese villages and daily life to reduce possible negative impacts of tourism on local communities to allow for their cultural and social sustainability.
The name Nusa Dua itself literally translated means “Two Islands” which refers to the two small raised headlands or islands found just off the coast of the peninsula. On one of the islands stands a Hindu shrine (Pura) called Nusa Dharma which was built in 1948 by Tan Sie Yong of Chinese descent.
Nusa Dua is located 40km south of Denpasar, the provincial capital of Bali. Access is easy from the Kuta area (20-30 minutes) and Jimbaran (15 minutes) on the main southern route called Jalan Bypass Ngurah Rai, which becomes Jalan Bypass Nusa Dua as it approaches the enclave.
