Benoa Port Jazz Festival 2014

The groove of jazz will reverberate once again on the enchanting island of Bali as the Benoa Port Jazz Festival 2014 gets underway at the Benoa Cruise Terminal, Benoa Port, Bali on 28th March 2014.


Presented by PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III (Indonesian Port Inc.), the event will feature some of the most renowned names in Indonesian Jazz scene including Tompi, BLP and Beny Likumahua feat Monita Tahalea, Endah N Rhesa, Syaharani and Queen Fire Works, Balawan Batuan Etnic, Jampiro Jazz Band, and Kanelop. These artists will showcase their exceptional musical skills as they perform a number of hits in the 8 hours non-stop jazz fiesta.


The festival will be held on a stage erected in the port area overlooking  cruise ship activities at the Benoa Cruise Ship Terminal. The choice of venue is intended to draw international tourists who come via cruise ships and also to further promote cruise ships as a means of travelling. “We arranged this event to show that nowadays there are more tourists who prefer to choose cruise ships. We also wanted to reveal that as an international port, Benoa is becoming more popular among tourists” said Edy Priyanto, Public Relation Head of PT Pelindo III, reported


Edy explained that currently the trend of international tourists, especially in Asia and Europe, is leaning towards cruise ships. This is because on a cruise ship they can enjoy a more relaxing trip, more comfortable sleep, and wake up in different places.


Edy also revealed that one of the reasons to hold the festival is since cruise ships visits and the number of tourists arriving in cruise ships are  showing significant increases by the year. The data do not only apply to Bali, but also to Lembar Port in Lombok, Tanjung Emas Port in Semarang, and Tanjung Perak in Surabaya.


Tickets will be available at the price of IDR100,000, the organizers also offer tickets plus a Bali tour package starting from IDR850,000/pax.
