Diaz Prasada, Director of the Jakarta Fashion Week explained that the collection of the 5 designers will be displayed in the showroom of the Paris Fashion Week.”There are various categories there, the designers from Indonesia all fall into the same category which is the Triangle Showroom. The Triangle Showroom itself is dedicated for emerging designers with edgy and contemporary style” added Diaz as reported by beritasatu.com .
Among the 5 designers, Tex Saverio was even granted the opportunity to stage a fashion show. “We initially submitted all of the designers of the Fashion Forward Program, which were about 20 names. However, only 5 passed the selection. Tex Saverio then even passed the selection to stage his own fashion show there” said Diaz.
The Indonesian Fashion Forward Program is initiated by the Jakarta Fashion Week in cooperation with the British Council and is fully supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of Indonesia. In the program, emerging and talented designers are prepared and guided to expand in local markets and also to penetrate global markets.
Through the program, it is expected that more Indonesian designers will make their reputation on the international fashion scene.
Under the assistance of Fashion experts from Center for Fashion Enterprise, London, the designers were not only guided to sharpen their creativity in design but also to understand significant aspects in fashion business, including business planning, financial planning, legal aspects, costing and pricing, sales strategy, marketing, public relations, and more.
