The Traveller's Lounge / Re: March Festivals in Indonesia
« on: July 15, 2013, 05:11:13 PM »
So March is the main season for festivals or most of the festivals are in March? It sounds like diwali, Eid and Christmas to me. Is there any other season which includes different festivals? Asking because already missed this, if possible not to miss coming events. My favorite from your list is Pasola Festival, Sumba. Can outsiders take part in it or it is only limited to local people. Other than this I am not that interested in any other festival which is mentioned in the list. Still a great celebration, I say.

Hope I will be able to join Pasola Festival, Sumba next year. 8)

North Sumatra / Re: The Incredible Lake Toba

Now this is a lake, biggest of all lakes in South Asia and deepest in the whole world. Hmm, this is a lake worthy to visit. Size as big as Singapore  :o, that's something. I would like to know, what type of creature live in this huge lake. I know I can do a search on google and get answers, but still it would be better if someone can answer over here.

Is anyone been to Bangka Belitung here?, it is a tourist place?, and if it is then what are interesting things are there to do. Well, interesting things for me is fishing, sailing, eating a lot. Seafood my favorite, what are local food in Bangka Belitung? and please do tell me budget, because it is limited.  8)

Aceh / Re: Pulau Weh: Discover the Hidden Beauty of Underwater
« on: July 12, 2013, 07:45:52 AM »
@Rinaldi Ad - A lot of detailed information given over Pulau Weh. Such good description of island and places to see in just one part of Indonesia. I have never been to Indonesia personally but I am planning to, and after reading your article on Pulau Weh wants me to visit there at least once. I can see you have mentioned sharks a lot of time, so Pulau Weh is not only limited to Humans, sharks are also enjoying their life there. But the biggest attraction for me is that wreck site, though it is very sad that they had to sink their own ship. Where there is tsunami there is disaster, never leave anything or anyone, destroys everything on its way, sad but one cannot fight against nature.

I've been thinking of visiting Indonesia later this year, and was wondering if anyone from out of the country could give me their impressions of the place in general?
