Where else should I go in Bali?
« on: February 04, 2013, 06:55:52 PM »
Hi all. I'm new to the forum. Hopefully someone might have some suggestions for me.

I'm travelling to Borneo and Bali in June this year. We plan to spend a few days in Borneo, then on to Ubud for about a week. Then we'd like to explore somewhere else in Bali - perhaps somewhere coastal. Are there any places that are not overly commercial and crowded (like the south/Kuta area)?

I've read about Lovina Beach up north, and Padangbai on the east coast. They sound inviting. Where else should we consider for a laid-back coastal town that is friendly, has a few restaurants, maybe some local craft and beautiful scenery? We are not after nightlife or rowdy bars. We're looking to rest and relax!

Thank you

Susie

I think sanur is a nice area to relax too, spent a couple of nights there and it was relatively quiet but with a nice mix of activity going on at the same time .

Bali is not only great topsite destination. In fact bali is home to the world class diving destination. If you are not into scuba diving - snorkeling is another excelent activity.
These sites is typically not crowded and limited night live - not all has white sand beach, but underawter is different story.
We travel to Bali practically every year - mostly to enjoy the underwater beauty.
Nusa Lembongan is only 30 minutes fast fery from Sanur. A lovely hideaway, nice beach and best dive sites 5 - 30 minutes away by boat.
Amed, small vilage 2.5 hours from Sanur is another lovely place to relax. Not far to the most popular dive destination in Bali - Tulamben.

Don't miss the Dolphin Tours at Lovina during the sunrise.

The early tourist catches the worm (= best experiences)!  :P
Indonesia is wonderful - without a doubt!
