Strolling relaxingly on the Shore of Kuta Beach, President Jokowi Assured that Bali is Safe to Visit

 

After the alert status is lowered to level 2 (cautious) and declared that most of the island is safe to visit, Bali is back to welcome tourists from all over the globe to enjoy her countless enchanting wonders. Showing the world that the island is indeed safe to visit, on Friday 22nd December 2017, the President of Republic Indonesia, Joko Widodo or President Jokowi took a relaxing stroll along the shore of the iconic Kuta Beach.

Accompanied by the Minister of Tourism Arief Yahya, the Secretary of State Pratikno, the Minister of Construction Basuki Hadimuljono, and the Governor of Bali I Made Mangku Pastika, the president even took his shoes off and walk barefooted over the sands on the shore.

Blending in with the local people as well as international and domestic tourists, the president happily walked barefooted with rolled up pants for about 2 KM. “He really enjoys the experience, joy was radiating from his face,” said the Public Communication Representation of the Ministry of Tourism, Iyung Masuroh. Aside from strolling in the beach, the president also visited souvenir shops. Accompanied by his Vlogger son, Kaesang Pangarep, he also made a few vlogs with a number of international and domestic tourists.

Through this simple visit, the president is showing to the world that there is no need for any worries to come and visit the island of Bali. This is confirmed by his unhesitant comment in his vlogs among the tourists: “Bali is safe; as we all can see here it’s all safe and vibrant with tourists’ activities.” Indeed, Bali is returning to its normal state. The Airport is open, flights are operating normally, and planes are taking off and landing unaffected by the volcanic activities of Mount Agung.

As previously announced in public by the Coordinating Minister of Maritime Luhut Pandjaitan regarding the latest condition of the volcanic activities of Mount Agung, only those within the 10KM radius from the center of Mount Agung that still under the status level of Alert (Level 4), which is only less than 2% of the entire island. Apart from the area, other parts of the island are declared safe for all kinds of activities. Also, the analysis from the Meteorological, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency of Indonesia suggested that the wind is blowing eastward until March. Thus, it is concluded that Ngurah Rai Airport can resume its activities normally.
