Due to COVID-19, the Directorate General of Immigration in Indonesia has updated the emergency/force majeure stay permit regulations for foreigners that are currently residing in Indonesia.
Please note that the extension of the Emergency Stay Permit will be granted to those who are eligible. It will be free of charge and will stay valid until the state of the emergency is lifted by the National Disaster Emergency Agency (BNPB).
Holders of expired ITAS/ITAP/MREP staying overseas (outside Indonesia), who have been granted a required letter from relevant agencies/boards, and those who apply for the family reunion ITAS/ITAP, shall return to Indonesia and immediately extend Stay Permits at local immigration offices within 60 days of the grace period starting from 13 July, 2020. Those who do not extend their visa during the grace period should apply for a new visa accordingly.
Foreign nationals residing in Indonesia who hold valid Stay Permits (ITK, ITAS, ITAP) can now request an extension to their Stay Permits at immigration offices.
Holders of Visitor Permits (2B21, 2B11, D212) who have been granted an Emergency Stay Permit can now extend their substantive permits unless the Covid-19 pandemic is declared over and there are available transports leaving Indonesia. The extension of substantive permits will be available within 30 days of grace period starting from 13 July, 2020. The permits can be changed from Visitor Permits to Stay Permits. Those who do not comply with the provision will be subject to Immigration Administrative Sanctions.
Holders of Temporary Stay Permits (ITAS) who have been granted an Emergency Stay Permit can now extend their substantive permits and change their Temporary Stay Permits to Permanent Stay Permits. Holders of Emergency Stay Permits who have reached the limit of extension of their Temporary Stay Permits shall leave Indonesia within the 30-day grace period starting from 13 July, 2020. Those who do not comply with the provision will be subject to Immigration Administrative Sanctions.
Holders of Permanent Stay Permits (ITAP) who have been granted an Emergency Stay Permit can now extend their substantive permits. Holders of an Emergency Stay Permit who have reached the limit of extension of their Permanent Stay Permit shall leave Indonesia within the 30-day grace period starting from 13 July, 2020. Those who do not comply with the provision will be subject to Immigration Administrative Sanctions.
Holders of Visa on Arrival (B213) who have been granted an Emergency Stay Permit can extend their substantive permits within 30 days of grace period starting from 13 July, 2020.
Those who do not comply with the provision will be subject to Immigration Administrative Sanctions.
Holders of Free Visa who have been granted Emergency Stay Permits shall leave Indonesia within the 30-day grace period starting from 13 July, 2020. Otherwise, they will be subject to Immigration Administrative Sanctions.
Holders of ITK or ITAS in Indonesia who have been granted a new visa telex can apply for their new ITK or ITAS at local immigration offices and will not be required to apply for an Indonesian visa at Indonesian Embassy or Consulates overseas. They will be granted a new ITK or ITAS after making a payment for a new visa at local immigration offices. The payment receipt is applicable as a proof of visa grant.
These regulations come into force starting from 13 July 2020 until further notice. You will be given 30 days to extend your permits (13 July, 2020 - 11 August, 2020). An application for the extension of a permit can be made at the immigration offices. Lodge the application along with your passport, substantive visa, and other supporting documents (if required).
Before applying for an extension of your permit, please check all available international flights. If the flights are available, you must leave Indonesia in 30 days. If the flights are not available, please extend your permit at the immigration office.
Each of your extended permits will be valid for 30 days from the date of submission of your application. Please keep yourself updated about the schedule of flights departing from Indonesia. You can contact your embassy or travel agents in Indonesia for more information regarding the flights.
