JAKARTA, 28 FEBRUARY 2022 - Since Bali was reopened for international tourists, there has been a massive influx of tourists arriving here. In response to this, it was revealed by the Coordinator of Community Activities Restrictions in Bali, Luhut B. Pandjaitan, that Bali will abandon its quarantine requirement for overseas tourists. The Indonesian government plans to carry this out on 14 March 2022.
"The government will also conduct a trial without quarantine for overseas tourists who come to Bali and it is planned to take effect on 14 March with several conditions." Said Luhut after attending the limited meeting of Community Activities Restrictions Enforcement.
In fact, according to him, the trial without quarantine can be implemented in 7 March 2022, if positive COVID-19 cases are shrinking in the next week. The reason is that the government has also seen COVID-19 cases decrease in Bali for the last few weeks.
"We can accelerate the target of March 14, 2022, by one week if in the evaluation next week, the trend of cases shows things that are improving." He adds.
In addition, Luhut also revealed that if this trial went successfully, the quarantine-free policy will be expanded to the rest of Indonesia.
More detailed arrangements will be discussed soon by the related government agencies. an official letter containing the procedures for this trial period will be issued soon enough.
