The Head of the Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economic Agency on 5 June 2020 issued Decree Number 131/2020 regarding the Protocol for COVID-19 Prevention and Control for the Tourism Sector during the Transition to Healthy, Safe and Productive Community.
This protocol is intended to increase the capability of businesses and their ability to independently conduct its business, which would also be a benchmark for officials and staff during the transition to a healthy, safe, and productive community.
Several tourism sector businesses will be allowed to operate in accordance to the decisions as well as the regulations. The following are businesses that may reopen their operations:
From 5 June 2020 – 2 July 2020
With limitation to business owners, workers and visitors up to 50 percent of normal capacity, covering: Outdoor sports facilities, excluding swimming pools.
From 8 June 2020 – 15 June 2020
With limitations to business owners, workers, and visitors up to 50 percent of normal capacity. Covering:
- Self –sustained Food and Beverage services and hotel facilities (excluding Bars) which can conduct dine-in services and takeaways, excluding those operating in shopping centers/malls, which are only allowed to conduct takeaway services.
From 8 June 2020 – 2 July 2020
With limitation to business owners, workers and visitors up to 50 percent of normal capacity, covering Museums and Galleries.
From 13 June 2020 – 2 July 2020
With limitations to business owners, workers, and visitors up to 50 percent of normal capacity, covering Beaches/Thousand Island Tourism.
Form 15 June 2020 – 2 July 2020
With limitation to business owners, workers and visitors up to 50 percent of normal capacity, covering:
1. Malls
2. Self –sustained Food and Beverage services, part of hotel facilities, as well as those operating in Shopping Centres/Malls (excluding Bars), can operate and serve dine-in services and takeaways, excluding those operating in shopping centers/malls
3. Salon/Barbershop
From 20 June 2020 – 2 July 2020
With limitation to business owners, workers and visitors up to 50 percent of normal capacity, covering:
1. Indoor and Outdoor Recreational Parks (Excluding Waterpark);
2. Tourism Areas;
3. Zoos.
Businesses which have been given a permit to return to operation shall continue to implement general health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the tourism sector, in accordance with regulations, including:
1 | Supervisors of the businesses shall fill-in, sign, and place integrity pact form on a visible location which may be visible to guests/visitors
2 | Compulsory use of a mask for staff and guests/visitors
3 | Provision of adequate and accessible hand-washing facilities for staff and consumers. Choice of products that are according to standards. Provision of direction for hand-washing facilities, if needed.
4 | Arrange sufficient working hours by avoiding over time which may cause staff to have an inadequate resting period that can cause a decrease of the body immune system
5 | Avoid the crowd of visitors through the following measures:
a. The setting of quota and control of the number of staff/customers that may enter the premises to limit access and avoid crowds.
b. Implement a queuing system in the entrance area with a minimal safe distance of 1-meter
c. Online order/reservation or order by phone to minimize direct contact with customers. For certain businesses, and if possible, to provide delivery or takeaway services
d. Implementation of a period of services in accordance with the policy set up by the local government and in accordance with the rules and regulations
1 | Use of masks from-and-to work as well as during working hours in the work area.
2 | Implement daily clean and healthy living behavior, or routine hand-washing with soap and running water, or usage of hand sanitizers before and after conducting an activity, coughing/sneezing etiquette, and avoid touching the face (eyes, nose, and mouth)
3 | Whilst working, if necessary, use self-protection gear such as gloves, eye cover, particularly for employees that checks the temperature of visitors, greeters, cashiers, and servers.
4 | Avoid the use of personal tools for general usage such as praying mat, food utensils, etc.
5 | Routine cleaning and disinfectant in the work area and public area.
1 | Use of masks while in a public area
2 | Not permitted to bring children under 5.y.o
3 | Implement coughing/sneezing etiquette by covering the mouth with a tissue and discard used tissue in the bin.
4 | Avoid touching open body parts such as eyes, nose, face, and hands with dirty gloves or unwashed hands without using a soap/hand sanitizer.
5 | Implement physical distancing with a minimum distance of 1 meter
The supervision and control of the implementation of this protocol shall be conducted by the Head of the Tourism and Creative Economic Agency as part as an effort to increase the capability of businesses and their ability to independently conduct their business, which would also be a benchmark for officials and staff during the transition to a healthy, safe and productive community.
