1. Indonesia continues to monitor the reports regarding the worldwide spread of the COVID-19 outbreak issued by the WHO.
2. Based on a recent report by the WHO, presently there is a significant increase in the spread of Covid-19 beyond the Republic of China, namely in Iran, Italy, and South Korea.
3. In this regard, the Government of the Republic of Indonesia is temporarily undertaking new policy measures for travelers from the above-mentioned countries, in order to ensure public safety.
a) First, denial of entry and transit to Indonesia, for travelers which has visited the following areas in the last 14 days:
Iran: Tehran, Qom, Gilan.
Italy: Lombardy territories, Veneto, Emilia Romagna, Marche, and Piedmont.
b) Second, for travelers from Iran, Italy, and South Korea arriving from outside the above-mentioned areas, it is compulsory to provide a health certificate issued by the health authority of the respective country. A valid health certificate must be presented to the airline company upon check-in. Travelers without a valid health certificate from an authorized health agency shall be denied entry as well as transit to Indonesia.
c) Third, prior to landing, travelers from the three above-mentioned countries must fill in the Health Alert Card which is issued by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. The card pertains questions relating to travel history and if the travelers had recently visited one of the identified areas mentioned above, within the last 14 days, the travelers will be denied entry/transit to Indonesia.
d) Fourth, for Indonesian citizens who had recently visited the three countries, particularly to areas which have been identified above, an additional medical check will be conducted at the airport upon arrival.
4. This policy will be effective as of Sunday, 8 March 2020, 00:00hrs.
5. This is a temporary policy which will be evaluated accordingly
