Hundreds of national fashion brands steeped in local content and produced with international standard quality will be displayed at the Indonesia Fashion Week 2016, scheduled to take place from 10th to 13th March 2016 at the Jakarta Convention Center, Jakarta. Representing the collective creative wealth of Indonesia, this year the fashion fiesta will carry the theme “Reflection of Culture”.
Aimed to establish Indonesia as one of the world's fashion centers, IFW is where all unique features of Indonesian cultures, both traditional and modern are presented in the form of haute couture and ready to wear fashion and accessories.
“As we are all aware, Indonesian culture is truly rich and diverse, and this is what we want to reflect. We aim to dig deep into the diverse cultural traits and transform these into products that show signature Indonesian character, thus highlighting Indonesian fashion in the international scene” said Musa Widyatmodjo, representing the Association of Indonesia Fashion Designers (APPMI), the organizers of the event, as reported by okezone.com.
Pulling together runway fashion shows, trade shows, seminars and a fashion design competition, the Indonesia Fashion Week (IFW) has become a heavyweight landmark event that grows extensively each year. Held for the first time in February 2012, the annual Indonesia Fashion Week synergizes all fashion elements in the country including government, industry, associations, and academics.
