Culinary Lovers and Shopaholics, mark these dates and brace yourself!
For one whole month, from 27th September to 27th October 2017 the Wonderful Indonesia Culinary and Shopping Festival 2017 will be the highlight of hundreds of malls and shopping centers in 19 cities across the Indonesian archipelago. The event is a collaborative work between the Ministry of Tourism and the Association of Shopping Center Management of Indonesia (APPBI).

No less than 150 malls and shopping centers across Indonesia will participate in this one of a kind fiesta in all of Indonesia's major cities, namely: Jakarta, Banten, Bandung, Surabaya, Malang, Yogyakarta, Solo, Semarang, Palembang, Medan, Bali, Makassar, Pekanbaru, and Balikpapan. In each of these cities, you will be pampered with a wide variety of scrumptious culinary delights as well as amazing shopping sensations with various discounts on offer.

Chairperson of APPBI, Stefanus Ridwan revealed that the opening of the festival will be held on 27th September 2017 at Kota Kasablanka Mall in the capital city of Jakarta. "At the grand opening ceremony, there will be spectacular traditional dance performances as well as fashion shows displaying trendy designs on tenun and batik materials from renowned Indonesian designers," said Stefanus Ridwan.

Meanwhile, Head of the Culinary and Shopping Attractions Acceleration Team at the Ministry of Tourism, Vita Datau, explained that the event is the perfect momentum for all stakeholders of culinary and handicraft businesses as well as the tourism industry to showcase the best of their products and services. "Wonderful Indonesia Culinary and Festival 2017 will showcase a plethora of varieties of local cuisines and handicrafts. This event is the perfect platform for micro, small and medium enterprises (UMKM). Industries in local food products and handicrafts to showcase the best of what they produce to the spotlight."

Moreover, Vita Datau added, for tourists this will be the perfect opportunity to enjoy some of the most scrumptious treasures of the country such as the sweet and savory Gudeg from Yogyakarta, Bandung's popular Batagor and Siomay, Jakarta's famous Gado-gado and Mie Ayam, and a whole lot more.
