Wonderful Indonesia Pavilion Returns to Taipei International Travel Fair (TITF) 2024

Jakarta, 1 November 2024 – The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Tourism and Creative Economy Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (MOTCE) once again participated in one of the leading tourism industry exhibitions in Asia, namely the Taipei International Travel Fair (TITF), as an effort to promote one of 5 Super Priority Destinations (Borobudur-Joglo Semar)and 3B Destinations (Banyuwangi-North Bali-West Bali) and to strengthen awareness of the Wonderful Indonesia brand in the Taiwanese market. This event was held from November 1-4, 2024, at booth number K308, Hall 1, Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center.

The presence of the Wonderful Indonesia Pavilion was a form of cooperation and collaboration between MOTCE and the Indonesian Economic & Trade Office (IETO) Taipei. The Wonderful Indonesia Pavilion facilitated Business-to-Consumer (B2C) activities, where sales of tour packages for the 5 DSP (Yogyakarta-Borobudur) and 3B (Banyuwangi-North Bali-West Bali) destinations were expected from industry participants who joined the Indonesian pavilion. Six (6) tourism industry representatives participated in the Indonesian pavilion at the 2024 TITF event, including travel agents/tour operators (TA/TO), airlines, and hotels.

Promotional activities carried out at the Wonderful Indonesia Pavilion included product knowledge/tourism updates, information services, distribution of promotional materials, a mini-survey, and questionnaires. In addition, other activities included Sales Calls to several TA/TO offices, airlines, and tourism application companies in Taipei to explore strategic partnership opportunities with the Indonesian Government and the Indonesian tourism industry, for both joint promotions and the creation of joint tour packages.

Deputy for Marketing at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Ni Made Ayu Marthini, stated that participation in the 2024 TITF event aimed to increase awareness of the Wonderful Indonesia brand and sustainable tourism efforts conducted by Indonesia among foreign tourists from Taiwan, in particular, and international tourists in general.

"The participation of the Wonderful Indonesia Pavilion in this event was expected to provide an introduction to travel experiences in the 5 DSP in Indonesia so that visitors, including Taiwanese people, the international community, and the Indonesian diaspora, could help spread information about tourist destinations with green and sustainable concepts in Indonesia," said Ni Made Ayu Marthini.

In addition, Director for Tourism Marketing Regional 1 - Asia Pacific, Raden Wisnu Sindhutrisno, expressed hope that participation in the 2024 TITF would help boost the target of foreign tourist visits to Indonesia in 2024, with a goal of 14.3 million visits. Foreign tourists from Taiwan were consistently among the top 20 foreign tourist visits to Indonesia throughout 2024, ranking 15th as of the latest data in August. Participation in the 2024 TITF event was intended to encourage an increase in foreign tourist visits from Taiwan to Indonesia. Foreign tourists from Taiwan contributed 127,610 visits from January to August 2024, marking a 26.14% increase from the same period in 2023. Meanwhile, foreign tourist visits from China in 2024 were expected to increase to reach the target of 184,215 visits.
