In the age of Instagram, more and more places are popping up with fresh ideas to accommodate the need to take that perfect Instagramable shot. Motomoto Art Museum and Resto in QBIG, BSD City, Tangerang, Indonesia can cater your needs to those awe-inspiring Instagramable posts while also savoring some delicious food.
Officially opened on April 26th, 2019 in QBIG (a giant one-stop shopping avenue) located in Jalan BSD Raya Utama, BSD City, Tangerang. Motomoto is founded by Boy William (a well-known Indonesian actor) and two of his co-founders, Rudi and Teddy Lazuardi. This 3000 square meter area served as an Art Museum and also a restaurant.
The museum holds a total of 23 interactive rooms, each displaying unique art installations by various Indonesian artists. Among artists whose arts are exhibited in the museums are Erwin Windu Pratama, Sembilan Matahari, Amenkcoy, Rebellionik, Naufal Abshar, Mulyana, and Muklay.
“The art display will continue to variate and we will bring in more artist to participate because we would like to feature a diverse arts masterpiece every three to six months,” stated Boy William in a local media interview. Boy added he also collaborated with Felix Tjahyadi (Creative Director of MATA Studio) and Agra Satria as the lead concept of the room designs and brandings.
The unique art installation featured in each room will make visitors feel like they are accessing a different world each time they enter a room. One room is displaying a nuance of Indonesia’s rich cultural batik in a black and white tone, another displays a combination of bold colors, then a room with a nuance of a delightful under the sea experience, a room with a cloud and a sense of rain pouring combined with playful lighting presentation which could change colours every now and then, a room filled with red and white balloons on the floor combined with flowery red and white artsy installation serving as the wallpaper, another room beautifully displays an all baby pink cabinet filled with pink packages of snacks and many more unique and perfect Instagramable spots for those seeking a stunning artsy picture.
Visitors are welcome to freely engage with the art installations and create their own spin of phone photography in each room. Motomoto concept of design is, in fact, to accommodate the millennial demand for that unique Instagramble post and also educating and inspiring them with Indonesia’s rich culture presented in a contemporary and pop art manner.
Aside from exploring the artsy rooms, visitors could also enjoy a fine culinary experience at the Motomoto Restaurant. The resto features a variety of culinary feasts from Asian to Western cuisine, an array of healthy dishes and beverages. Motomoto opens on weekdays from 10 am to 10 pm and on weekends from 9 am to 10 pm, however, the museum’s last entry daily is at 8 pm. The entrance fee is IDR 100K for weekdays and weekends and children under the age of two years old is free of charge to enter the museum.
