Babukung Festival

Festival Babukung is an annual event held in Nanga Bulik, Lamandau Regency. It is based on the Dayak Tomun death tradition, where the community participates in a ritual to offer material support and entertain mourning families. The community dances while wearing various Luha (traditional masks), and the dance movements with these masks are called ""Babukung.""

The beauty of the dance, the unique rhythm of the music, and the exotic masks are brought together in this festival to preserve the culture and boost tourism in Lamandau Regency.

The 2025 Festival Babukung, themed "SEMANGAT BERKARYA DALAM PELESTARIAN BUDAYA DAERAH" (The Spirit of Creation in the Preservation of Local Culture), will feature key events such as the Opening Ceremony, Luha Carnival, Babukung Creative Dance Performance, Ethnic Music Show, Workshops/Seminars/Dialogs, Local Pride Bazaar, and the Babukung Fine Art Competition.
