Tidore Festival
The Tidore Festival is a cultural ritual rooted in the traditions of the Sultanate of Tidore, celebrated by the indigenous people of the region. This festival is a series of ceremonies, processes, and the dorora (prayers) ritual, aimed at seeking blessings for the peace and prosperity of His Majesty Sultan Tidore, the Jou Boki, the Bobato Pehak Raha (Council of Ministers), the indigenous communities, and the entire Tidore Sultanate, which spans across Tidore Island, Oba, Wasile Maba, Weda, Patani, Gebe (Gamrange), Raja Ampat, Papua Gam Sio (Papua 9 kingdoms), Ma for Soa Raha, Seram Timur, Kei, Aru, and the southeastern islands.
The theme for this year's event is "Preserving Local Wisdom, Welcoming a Progressive North Maluku". Tidore Festival 2025 highlights the importance of maintaining tradition, ethics, and maritime heritage, underscoring the deep connection between the people of Tidore and their seafaring identity.
