(Jakarta, November 14, 2022) - With one day remaining until the G20 Summit in Bali begins, a number of leaders of the G20 countries and international organizations have reached the island since Sunday, November 13, 2022. One of them was the President of the United States, Joe Biden, who landed at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali around 9 PM - Central Indonesian Time (WITA).
Greeted with the Pendet dance, President Joe Biden was set to join a bilateral meeting with the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, on the following day. Held on Monday, November 14, 2022, the meeting opened with a welcoming greeting as well as words of appreciation from President Joko Widodo towards President Joe Biden. President Joko Widodo’s greeting and appreciation were warmly received by President Joe Biden as he expressed his gratitude for the invitation.

On this occasion, both presidents conveyed their hope for a successful G20 Summit. President Jokowi hoped that the G20 Summit in Bali would result in substantial collaborations that usher the global economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. Sharing a similar sentiment, President Joe Biden raised the topic of cooperative efforts among G20 countries in accelerating global economic recovery and resilience after the COVID-19 pandemic, one of which was through the launch of the Pandemic Fund.
President Joe Biden also revealed that the G20 Summit was a crucial forum for the world's largest economies to work together for the good of the global community and ensure the world is better prepared to face the threat of pandemics in the future.
Aside from President Joe Biden, President Joko Widodo also scheduled other bilateral meetings with other G20 leaders as the summit went on.
