Wed, 20 Dec 2023

Bali has been striving to accelerate its COVID-19 vaccination program as one of the key preparations for reopening its tourism sector. Spokesperson for COVID-19 Vaccination Program from the Ministry of Health, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, stated that the vaccination rate in Bali has reached above 50 percent. This is considered as one the highest in Indonesia.

"DKI Jakarta and Bali have the highest vaccination rates, along with Riau Islands, which have reached above 50 percent," said Nadia in a virtual discussion on Tuesday (27/7/2021).

Furthermore, Nadia stated that the vaccine supply would continue to increase in the following months until December 2021. "There will be 60 million doses in August and approximately 70 million doses in September, October, November, and December." she concluded.

The data from the Ministry of Health official website on 25 July 2021 shows that Bali, DKI Jakarta, and Riau Islands are the top 3 provinces with the highest COVID-19 vaccination (first dose) rates, namely 88.43% (Bali), 84.56% (DKI Jakarta), and 63.02% (Riau Islands).
