Sun, 11 Mar 2018

The Airport Council International (ACI) recently recognized Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport as the World’s 3rd Best Airport for 2015 in the category of airports serving between 15-25 million passengers annually. The award was given after a thorough Airport Service Quality survey involving 550,000 passengers in 300 International airports in 80 countries. Top in this category was Gimpo Airport of Seoul, South Korea followed by Wuhan Tianhe airport, in China.

Additionally, Bali’s Airport was also awarded the 2015 Most Improved Airport in the Asia Pacific Region.

The awards were given by ACI Director General, Angela Gittens, and received by Bali Airport General Manager, Trikora Hardjo at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre in Australia at the Conference held here between 18-20 April 2016.

The Survey covered 34 key services that are indicators on passengers’ satisfaction, that include access road to the airport, check-in facilities, facilities and cleanliness of toilets, safety of the airport, and supporting amenities such as food and beverage outlets.

The Ngurah Rai International Airport bettered its services tremendously since 2012, having improved 60.7% in the space of 3 years only, said Trikora Hardjo.

Separately, it was announced that because of increased traffic and heavy demand, Bali’s airport now plans to build a third runway over reclaimed land.

Besides serving international airlines, Bali also serves as an important hub for domestic flights to popular Wonderful Indonesia tourist destinations like Lombok, Komodo, Makassar, Jogja, Wakatobi, and more.
