PRESS RELEASE NO.50/SP/TKMG20/11/2022
G20 COMMUNICATIONS AND MEDIA TEAM
(Nusa Dua, November 11, 2022) – Secretariat of the G20 Summit began distributing media badges at Courtyard Bali Nusa Dua Resort to journalists covering the Summit. The accreditation badges will be distributed until November 15, 2022. Journalists said they were satisfied with the services provided by the committee.
"In total, we have around 3,000 accreditation badges in this secretariat," said Christian, one of the secretariat crew, when meeting with the G20 Communications and Media Team at the Courtyard Bali Nusa Dua Resort, Bali, on Thursday, Nov.10.
The media badges are distributed in three shifts: at 09.00-12.00, at 12.00-14.00, and at 14.00-17.00. Such scheduling is made to avoid crowd of people at the distribution point.

"We implement the physical distancing protocol to guarantee the health and safety of journalists and other participants," he said. In addition to media badges, other accreditation badges are also distributed for other participants.
Christian added that on the first day of distribution, the secretariat had issued more than a thousand badges. These include those for journalists, participants, and committee members of the G20 Summit.
The procedure for media badge collection, Christian explained, requires journalists accredited by Ministry of Communications and Informatics to cover the G20 events to fill out an application form for collection. The file must be sent to an electronic mail address already registered with the ministry.
In addition to filling in personal data and media origin, journalists are also required to include details on the day of collection, including choosing the desired time slot. If the desired time is full, the secretariat will recommend journalists to available time slots in order to avoid overcrowding.
"Once you get here, show the barcode sent to your email and wait for the badges," said Christian.
The journalists arranging their media badge collection said they were satisfied with the service given by the G20 committee. They did not mind completing an additional stage of selecting a time slot. "It’s not a problem. I get that it’s to avoid overcrowding,” said Evira Paramita Sandi, a journalist for Suara.com.
TV One journalist Indra Galih also admitted that he did not find any problems in the media badge collection process. In fact, the secretariat allowed group collection by media representatives who come in groups. "I have my teammate collected my badge," said Indra, who chose the early time slot.
The total number of national and foreign journalists registered to cover the G20 Summit in Bali reaches 1,800. The accreditation and selection process for the reporting requests is carried out by the Ministry of Communications and Informatics (MCI). According to MCI’s Director General of Public Information and Communications, Usman Kansong, a total of more than 2,000 applicants have gone through the selection process.
