First Class Train Argo Parahyangan Priority Is Now Available from Jakarta to Bandung

Those traveling from the capital city of Jakarta to Bandung (and vice versa) can enjoy a much more convenient mode of transportation following the launch of first-class train service Argo Parahyangan Priority on March 9th, 2018.

The priority class was initially only available to cater VVIP passengers (such as presidential or official entourage) or chartered by a group of travelers. But now, the priority class is available for individual passengers as state-owned railway operator PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) aims at improving its services and to cater broader needs.

Similar to luxurious trains in Europe, the Argo Parahyangan Priority comes with various first-class facilities and the latest in technology. These include audio video on demand (AVOD) in every seat, a minibar, 52-inch flat screen TV, special attendants, luxurious toilet, as well as premium seats which are much more comfortable than the seats in the executive class. Passengers are also treated with a coffee break session offering free flow coffee, tea, snacks, and mineral water. The interior of the car is dominated by the color brown and features classic wooden decoration.

Currently, there is only one car available for the priority class. The car is connected to the Argo Parahyangan train which operates every day, departing from Gambir Station in Jakarta at 8:45 a.m. and
6:45 p.m., and from Bandung Station at 5 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. Ticket price is set at IDR200, 000 and a total of 28 seats are available. Ticket reservation is available on the mobile app of PT KAI, KAI Access, and the company's website KAI.id.

The service is still in its trial run until March 31st and it's expected to continue in the months after, depending on public response.
