The warm and friendly city of Manado, capital of North Sulawesi Province and the second largest city on the island of Sulawesi after Makassar, will again come alive with fantastic festivities and a spectacular fiesta as the Manado Fiesta 2018 is set to take place from 31st August to 9th September 2018.

Carrying the theme of “Diversity in Harmony” to reflect the city’s abundance in lovely charms, the spectacular festival will be highlighted with an array of excitement including the parade of 25 floats featuring unique underwater creatures around Manado’s waters, the Dragon boats and decorated boat attractions, a Jupiter Air Show, paragliding, parachuting, Colossal art and cultural performances, and a lot more.
Aside from showcasing the diverse charms of the city as well as the province of South Sulawesi, the event will also show the participation of 14 countries. These are China, India, South Korea, Japan, Pakistan, Vietnam,

Manado Fiesta 2018 will also showcase the Manado Fashion Festival from 1st to 4th September followed by the Tourism, Trade, and Investments Fair as well as the Art and Photography Expo on 5th to 8th September 2018. From 28th August to 9th September, there will be the Fun Activities and Music Events featuring numerous performers. Completing the array of exciting festivities, a culinary Festival and a Religious Festival will also be staged.

Manado is the largest, most-northerly city in Indonesia. Facing the wide open sea while backed by a number of active volcanoes, the city is blessed with breathtaking natural splendors off the coast and its mountainous backyard.

Boosted by the surge in international tourists since last year especially tourists from China, Manado today serves 9 international flights from 9 cities to Manado: 1 from Singapore, and 8 from China, which are from Chengdu, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Nanchang, Changsha, Macau and Hong Kong. And of course, there are daily domestic flights from Jakarta, Bali, Makassar and more.

The city has also seen a rapid surge in tourist numbers in recent years. In 2016, the total number of international tourists was 47,103. This rose significantly and almost doubled in 2017, reaching 92,729 international tourists.

These have boosted the confidence of the Ministry of Tourism to establish Manado as a tourism hub for the Pacific markets such as China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Japan, and Korea.
