G20 AIS FORUM COMMUNICATION AND MEDIA TEAM

Jakarta, October 3, 2023 – The Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kemkominfo) has ensured that telecommunications infrastructure for the Archipelagic and Island States (AIS) Forum Summit, held in Bali on October 10-11, 2023, will be adequate and smooth. Experience Indonesia in 360.
“We can ensure that the telecommunications network during the AIS Forum Summit will run smoothly, both for the delegates' needs and for the media,” said the Director General of Information and Public Communication of Kemkominfo, Usman Kansong, on Tuesday (October 3, 2023) in Jakarta.
Kemkominfo, Usman explained, is collaborating with Telkom to ensure the smooth access to telecommunications during the event.
Various mitigation steps have also been prepared, he said, to anticipate any potential issues, including network disruptions or communication jamming.
Usman also emphasized that the support provided by Telkom is continuously monitored by the Directorate General of Resources and Postal and Informatics Devices (SDPPI) to ensure that telecommunications service quality is maintained throughout the event.
“Telkom is supervised by the Directorate General of SDPPI, so it is closely monitored through its monitoring stations,” he said.
Regarding network security, Usman mentioned that Kemkominfo has involved the Data Center and Informatics Facilities Center (PDSI) as well as receiving support from the National Cyber and Encryption Agency (BSSN).
"So, this is our standard in every international event. We always involve PDSI and BSSN for cyber security. This is the same standard as when organizing the G20 or ASEAN Summits," he said.
Media Center
On this occasion, Usman also revealed that the Media Center, which will serve as the operational hub for journalists covering the AIS Forum Summit, is nearing completion. Currently, preparations are in the technical phase, including finalizing infrastructure and distributing necessary supporting items.
“According to plan, on October 5, we will start loading and prepare the infrastructure, and we expect it to be ready by October 8,” said Usman.
This Media Center is scheduled to officially operate from October 9 to 14, 2023. Various facilities will be provided to support the work of the journalists, including computer units, internet access, stand-up positions for TV stations, medical rooms, press conference rooms, media lounges, information centers, large screens, and shuttle buses throughout the event.
The Media Center will also prepare and distribute press releases in two languages (Indonesian and English), photos and videos, press briefings, and other materials required by journalists.
As of Sunday (October 1, 2023), over 100 journalists from local, national, and international media outlets had registered to cover the AIS Forum Summit 2023.

The AIS Forum Summit 2023 will take place on October 10-11, 2023, at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC) 1 and 2, Bali. The Media Center will be located at Tanjung Benoa Hall, third floor, BNDCC 2.
This international event carries the main theme, “Fostering Collaboration, Enabling Innovation for Our Ocean and Our Future.” The three sub-themes of the forum are Blue Economy, Our Ocean, Our Future, and Solidarity.
