Jakarta, 21 October 2021 - Indonesian government has been putting its utmost effort to counter the situation of pandemic as well as providing international travelers with convenience in many ways, and one of them is through the acceleration of COVID-19 vaccination program.
In the virtual press conference on Wednesday (6/10), Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin stated that Indonesia is now ranked 5th in the world in terms of the number of people who have been vaccinated. The rating was achieved after Indonesia managed to administer vaccines to more than 90 million people.
"In terms of vaccination, there have been 94 million Indonesians who had already received their first dose. Indonesia is ranked 5th in the world," said Budi.
This achievement made Indonesia ascend one rank above Japan, a country which has currently provided vaccinations to 80 million of its citizens.
Another good news is Bali now becomes the province with the second-highest vaccination rate in Indonesia. Data from the Ministry of Health has shown that since 21 October 2021 at 12.00 AM West Indonesia Time (WIB), Bali has administered the first dose of vaccination to 99,65% and second dose of vaccination to 84,8% of their 3,405,130 vaccination target.
Along with the efforts to accelerate the vaccination program, the Indonesian government has imposed a new regulation as an initial step for Bali tourism recovery. If you are planning to visit Bali, kindly comply with the rules and protocols and don’t forget to be a responsible traveler. We wish you a safe and convenient trip back here because #ItstimeforBali and see you soon.
