Some of the popular spots are Mount Merapi in Central Java, White Crater or Kawah Putih in West Java, as well as Bromo Mountain in East Java. Moreover, this island also hides some beautiful waterfalls that can live up to your summer vibes.

1 | Curug Citambur, Cianjur — West Java

Located only 37.5 kilometers from Ciwidey, Bandung, Curug Citambur can be options after White Crater or Kawah Putih and Situ Patenggang. The water falls from the height of 130 meters and reflects magical mist below. The greenies that surround Curug Citambur make the scenery even more stunning. The tourists are free to splash the water or soak into the pond below the waterfall. If you want to stay longer, you can also use the campground facility near the waterfall.
2 | Geopark Ciletuh, Sukabumi — West Java

Acknowledged as one of the UNESCO Global Geoparks, Geopark Ciletuh offers many attractions like mountainous scenery, waterfalls, fields, and beach. The waterfalls, the main attractions here, are tremendous views of the thundering water with a brown rocky hill behind. You can visit at least five dazzling waterfalls at the Geopark Ciletuh, namely Awang, Cimarinjung, Puncak Manik, Cikanteh and Sodong Waterfall.
3 | Sri Gethuk, Gunung Kidul – Yogyakarta

Sri Gethuk waterfall offers a unique landscape of dry Karst and turquoise water. It is nestled at Gunung Kidul, a southern region of Yogyakarta province. This 80-meter waterfall has three springs that flowing through stones to Oya River. It is not surprising if the clear water of Oya River is calling you to take a dip inside it, and you are not the only one because you will see many tourists also swim in this river.
4 | Jogan Beach, Gunung Kidul – Yogyakarta

Jogan Beach at Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta offers a unique experience of enjoying the saltwater wave and the fresh water drops. This beach is the only beach that has a waterfall in Yogyakarta. However, you cannot see the water drops every day as it only occurs during the rainy season, between October and March.
5 | Luweng Sampang, Gunung Kidul – Yogyakarta

Luweng Sampang is more than just a waterfall. The contoured lines layer on the rocks upright is the highlight of this waterfall. This less touristic site has a soft stream which is perfect for swimming or meditating. Challenge yourself to jump from the big rock on the side of this waterfall down to the water pond below it.
6 | Grojogan Sewu, Karanganyar – Central Java

Situated at 1,000 meters above sea level on the slope of Lawu Mountain, Grojogan Sewu is truly a scenic waterfall. The water drops from the 81 meters height with the high intense stream. You need to step on 1,250 stairs with beautiful forest scenery in the surrounding to reach this waterfall. However, watch your belonging because troops of long-tailed monkeys will follow your steps as you’re walking. You can reach this waterfall by taking around 1-hour driving from Solo City.
7 | Curug Cipendok, Banyumas – Central Java

Curug Cipendok is located inside the tropical forest on the slope of Slamet Mountain, therefore the air temperature is around 20 degree Celsius with high intensity of rainfall. The perfect combination of fresh air and dew makes a peaceful yet serene ambiance surround this waterfall. Curug Cipendok stands at 90 meters height that cause thundering sound in every drop. Beside the main waterfall, there are several mini waterfalls that you can use to playing water.
8 | Nglirip, Tuban – East Java

Located 25 kilometers from the city of Tuban, Nglirip waterfall has impressive turquoise water pool below the fall. This 28-meter waterfall stands on hefty limestone with a relatively low stream. However, local people do not recommend the visitors to swim in the pond below the waterfall because it is very deep.
9 | Coban Sewu, Lumajang – East Java

It is named Coban Sewu or literally means “Thousands Waterfall” because it looks like a big canyon surrounded with many small waterfalls, making it appears like a thousand curtains drop from the 120-meter canyon. You can reach this waterfall by taking 2 hours driving from Malang to Sidorenggo village in Lumajang. But, the real adventure begins when you have to go down into the bottom of a ravine with a bamboo ladder and follow the stream to arrive at the canyon.
10 | Lawean, Tulungagung – East Java

Lawean waterfall located at Turi village, Tulungagung. You need to drive about 25 kilometers away from the Tulungagung city to arrive at this waterfall. After that, you need to walk on the jungle track for 3 kilometers to reach the waterfall. All of the hard work and effort will be paid off once you can see the nature and the pristine water before your very eyes.
