World Dance Day “Toraya Ma’gellu’” 2024

In commemoration of World Dance Day, celebrated annually on April 29th, MASATA DPC North Toraja intends to repeat the success of the previous Toraya Ma'Gellu' World Dance Day events (in 2022 and 2023) by hosting this event again on June 14-15, 2024, at Tongkonan Buntu Pune, North Toraja Regency, South Sulawesi Province. This event will help develop cultural attractions, particularly the arts of Toraja, which are crucial elements in supporting the development of tourism. The event programs are expected to foster various collaborations between local wisdom and contemporary culture. The 2024 Toraya Ma'Gellu' World Dance Day series of events include the following:

• A performance of creative dances and traditional dances from several regions in Indonesia, as well as art collaborations (dance and painting), fashion shows, parades, and cultural performances by students.
• A mass dance performance from various communities in Toraja.
• Dance workshops on "Dance Movement Techniques" and "Dance Performance Management."
• An exhibition of MSME products (culinary & crafts) from several regencies in South Sulawesi.
