Keraton Surakarta Hadiningrat is located in Surakarta (Solo), Central Java. This royal palace serves as the cultural and historical center of the Mataram Kingdom's legacy. Established in 1745 by Pakubuwono II, the palace symbolizes the grandeur of Javanese culture. To this day, Keraton Solo remains the official residence of the royal family and a hub for traditional cultural activities.
The palace complex features distinctive Javanese architecture with colonial influences, adorned with intricate wooden carvings and traditional ornaments. Keraton also functions as a museum that houses various historical collections, including keris (traditional daggers), gamelan (traditional Javanese musical instruments), and other heirlooms, offering insight into Javanese royal life and culture.

The nearest airport is Adi Soemarmo International Airport in Solo. From the airport, the journey to the palace takes approximately 30 minutes by taxi, private vehicle, or online transportation.
By Land:
From downtown Solo, the palace is easily accessible via becak (pedicab), andong (horse-drawn carriage), city buses, or online transportation. The location is strategically close to other tourist attractions such as Pasar Klewer and Alun-Alun Lor.
