Museum Balanga

Museum Balanga is a cultural and historical tourist destination perfect for learning more about the culture and heritage of the Dayak people, rich in traditions and uniqueness. The name "Balanga" is derived from the name of a traditional Dayak jar, which holds deep historical and symbolic value.

  • By Air: Tjilik Riwut Airport is the main gateway to Palangka Raya City. From the airport, Museum Balanga is about 10-15 minutes away by taxi or online transportation.
  • By Land: Within the city, you can use public transportation such as city minibusses or online motorbike taxis. For visitors coming from outside the city, a road trip to Palangka Raya via provincial routes can be an exciting journey, offering breathtaking views of Kalimantan's nature.

Collections

The museum houses a variety of collections that reflect the cultural diversity of the Dayak people. Some of the highlight collections include:

  • Traditional weapons such as mandau and shields, including 1,000 weapons used during the ethnic conflict in Sampit in 2001.
