STP Bandung is Ready to Produce Tourism Change Agents.

Tourism is not just about destinations, especially in this pandemic era. The need for quality human resources is a supporting factor for the sustainability of the tourism sector and the creative economy. This is why the role of tourism schools is becoming increasingly important. Currently, there are six State Higher Education Institutions for Tourism under the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, one of which is the Bandung School of Tourism (STP Bandung). STP Bandung, formerly known as NHI (pronounced: eNHaii), is one of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy's main institutions in producing human resources in the tourism field. Not only that, STP Bandung also frequently supports various Ministry programs, including being the first STP to serve as a vaccination center.

"We want innovation because COVID-19 has enhanced our skills, upskilling, and reskilling on how to face COVID-19. Our frontline is educational institutions, as they are the ones that can produce world-class, competitive human resources," said Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, at DOM NHI, Bandung, on 17/7/2021.

STP Bandung is one of the oldest and best higher education institutions in tourism that has achieved various accomplishments both nationally and internationally. Located at Jl. Dr. Setiabudhi No. 186 Bandung, West Java, this school is technically supervised by the Ministry of Education and Culture’s Directorate General of Higher Education.

Its location is quite strategic, only about 20 minutes from the center of Bandung. It is also well-served by public transportation routes, and it is not far from one of Bandung's favorite tourist areas, Lembang.

STP Bandung offers three study programs: Hospitality, Tourism and Travel, and Postgraduate programs. It provides various facilities to support education, such as a hotel for practice, systematic and technical laboratories for each study program, and sports and arts facilities for students.

STP Bandung strives to build an effective, efficient, and accountable educational organization. Various strategies are implemented, including building networks both domestically and internationally, developing professional human resources, and conducting tourism research for society and the industry. Its students frequently participate in tourism industry competitions, from national to international levels.

To date, STP Bandung has graduated over 21,000 students. Of this number, 38 percent are working abroad, while the remaining 62 percent work domestically. They are spread across various sectors of the tourism industry, including entrepreneurship, hospitality, travel agencies, consulting, and even government positions.

To this day, STP Bandung continues to innovate with various breakthroughs to strengthen the institution through programs such as the Entrepreneurship Program, International Program, Creative Event (MICE), and digital learning.

"We will ensure that educational institutions are part of the 3G; Quick Movement, Collective Movement, and Optimizing All Potential. We hope that the solutions from educational institutions will help in the recovery and revival of our economy," said the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy.
