Mount Rinjani: Lombok's Jewel Waiting to be Conquered

The average hike to the summit takes 2-3 days, depending on physical condition and weather. Although challenging, the experience of climbing this mountain is well worth it. For many, reaching the top of Rinjani is a profound spiritual and emotional achievement.

How to Get to Mount Rinjani?

Once you arrive on Lombok Island, there are several official trails that can be accessed from several entrances, the most popular being Sembalun and Senaru.

Mount Rinjani Sembalun Trail

This path is quite a favorite to climb to the top of the following steps:

  1. From the airport or Mataram, take a car to Sembalun Village, about 4 to 5 hours away.
  2. The trail is gentle at the beginning, but long and open (lots of savannah).
  3. From Sembalun, the hike to the summit usually takes 2 days and 1 night, then down to Segara Anak Lake and out via Senaru (3 to 4 days in total).
