President Jokowi also expressed his deep appreciation to all the leaders and invited guests who attended.
"During these three days, 12 summit meetings have been held and resulted in 90 outcome documents and a number of concrete agreements with partners. During the meetings, I sensed optimism and positive energy from all participants. I honestly say, this strengthens hope, this strengthens spirit, to continue striving for a peaceful, stable, and prosperous region," said President Jokowi.
He also mentioned that the 43rd ASEAN Summit has become a momentum to further solidify the Indo-Pacific region as a theater for peace and inclusivity. “That is the key foundation that will guide ASEAN towards a better future for the people and for the world,” he added.
According to President Jokowi, this is the essence of the Indonesian Chairmanship, making ASEAN the Epicentrum of Growth.
"But our task is not yet finished. ASEAN’s work cannot be completed in just one chairmanship. We will continue to face various dynamics and the complexities of global challenges. Therefore, we must work together, navigate challenges into opportunities, navigate rivalries into collaborations, navigate exclusivity into inclusivity, and navigate differences into unity.
We must be the captain of our own ship, and now it’s time to hand over the chairmanship to Laos," President Jokowi stated.
On this occasion, President Jokowi once again urged ASEAN countries to continue strengthening collaboration.
"Let us continue to strengthen collaboration and cooperation for a peaceful and prosperous ASEAN and make the world a better place for all. Once again, I thank you for the support of Indonesia’s Chairmanship in 2023. With that, I officially close the 43rd ASEAN Summit and other summits," concluded President Jokowi.
