Almost 50% of Vaccination Target in Bali Has Received COVID-19 Vaccine

JAKARTA, 7 JUNE 2021 - The Bali Provincial Government continues to accelerate COVID-19 vaccination programs in all regencies/cities in order to prepare for tourism reactivation. Deputy Governor of Bali, Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati, also known as Cok Ace, stated that currently, almost 50% of the vaccination target in Bali had received the vaccination.

"The whole population of Bali is approximately 4.32 million. According to WHO standards, to achieve herd immunity, we must strive to vaccinate 70 percent of the whole population, which is around 3 million. Currently, almost 50 percent of that number has received vaccinations," he publicly stated in a statement in Denpasar, Thursday (4/6/2021).

He explained that until Wednesday, 2 June 2021, the number of recipients of the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine had reached 1,325,407 people. While those who have received the second dose had reached 636,639 people. Meanwhile, there are still 724,324 doses of vaccine stock currently available.

On the other hand, Cok Ace also talked about the decreasing number of positive cases in Bali. On the first of June, for example, there were only 28 positive cases.

"Province-wise, this is an extraordinary achievement," he said.
