外南夢位於爪哇的最東部邊緣，與鄰近的位於Plengkung的著名的G-land衝浪勝地一樣，外南夢也是一個世界級的衝浪勝地：這就是紅島海灘。紅島海灘之所以有這個名字是因為，在海邊不到100米的地方是風景如畫的丘陵，故得此名，而且觸腳可及。這情況類似於島海神廟的巴厘主島的位置。不像在G-land那裡被發現海灘有很多鋒利的珊瑚岩石，而紅島海灘有公開的沙灘也非常適合初學者前來衝浪。
與巴厘島的庫塔海灘相比，這裡的浪更強一些，能打大4米高，400米長，是衝浪者理想的技術練習條件。但這裡的浪平均高度在2米左右，初學者和業餘愛好者也可以享受這裡的海灘。但是，Plengkung和G-land海灘就只適合專業人員來挑戰了。
紅島海灘最初的名字叫Ringin Pitu。這里關於紅島海灘的由來有兩個版本的傳說。一個是因為這裡的土壤和沙灘呈微紅色，這是其名字的由來原因，而另一個傳說則是時而一道陽光從丘陵射來映襯出一片紅色的海灘，所以由此得名。這個海灘的另一個特點便是在附近有一個漁村叫做Pancer，您可以選擇在村子裡住宿。儘管他們的生活十分簡單，但他們招待遊客卻非常真誠熱心。
