Badung, October 9, 2023 – The Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), Admiral Yudo Margono, has instructed his staff to ensure the security measures for the Archipelagic and Island States (AIS) Forum Summit are well-controlled. Experience Indonesia in 360.
This was emphasized by the Commander during a Tactical Floor Game (TFG) session on Sunday (October 8, 2023) with the Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Kapolri), General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, regarding the VVIP security plans for the AIS Forum Summit, which will take place on October 10-11, 2023.
“Understand contingency plans as a precautionary step in case of field dynamics, and identify vulnerable areas to ensure security around those areas,” said the Commander of the TNI.
The TFG, attended by the Commanders of Task Forces (Dansatgas) from the TNI and POLRI, government agencies, and other related parties, was mentioned by the Commander to ensure that each Task Force involved in the AIS Forum Summit is prepared to anticipate any dynamics that may arise during the event.
For this reason, the Commander emphasized that the TFG is not a drill, exercise, or simulation, but a real event that cannot be repeated, so it is crucial to ensure that everything runs smoothly and is capable of anticipating any developments.
On this occasion, the Commander of the TNI also emphasized that there will be no restrictions on social activities for tourists or the people of Bali during the AIS Forum Summit.
“There will be no restrictions, however, during the movement of the delegation’s convoy from the airport to the hotel and the summit venue, there may be slight disruptions. But I believe the people of Bali are accustomed to this, as several summits have been held in Bali,” said the Commander of the TNI.
Meanwhile, Chief of Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo added that his team will anticipate any issues that may arise both domestically and internationally, ensuring that they do not interfere with the AIS Forum Summit.
“Together with the Commander, we will carry out security measures optimally so that all activities proceed smoothly and the issues discussed will lead to strategic decisions,” said Sigit. (Puspen TNI/TR/Elvira Inda Sari)
