To anticipate a surge in Covid-19 cases during the Christmas and New Year holiday period in areas with increased Covid-19 transmission, including DKI Jakarta, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will enforce a mandatory Antigen Rapid Test policy for entry and exit to DKI Jakarta, as outlined in the Governor of DKI Jakarta Instruction No. 64 of 2020 on the Implementation of Public Activity Control in Preventing Covid-19 During the 2020 Christmas and 2021 New Year Holidays. This regulation requires anyone traveling in and out of the capital to show a certificate of a negative Antigen Rapid Test result. The requirement to present an Antigen Rapid Test result will be in effect during the Christmas and New Year holiday period, from December 18, 2020, to January 8, 2021.
Similar to PCR-based swab tests, the certificate of a negative Antigen Rapid Test result is valid for 14 (fourteen) days from the date of issuance. This mandatory Antigen Rapid Test applies to public transportation users traveling in and out of DKI Jakarta, whether by air, land, or sea.
