Following the information about the emergence of a new variant of the Covid-19 virus, the Indonesian government will implement a policy of temporarily closing the entry of Foreign Nationals (WNA) from all countries into Indonesia during the period of January 1-14, 2021. Through Circular Letter Number 4 of 2020 regarding Health Protocols for People’s Travel during the Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19) Pandemic, here are some provisions that need to be observed:

1 | Foreign Nationals (WNA) from all foreign countries who intend to enter Indonesia during the period of January 1-14, 2021, whether directly or transiting through a foreign country, are prohibited from entering Indonesia, except for travelers making official visits at the ministerial level or higher.
2 | This restriction also excludes the following:
- Holders of diplomatic stay permits and official stay permits.
- Holders of limited stay permits (KITAS) and permanent stay permits (KITAP).
3 | The government requires Indonesian Citizens (WNI) and Foreign Nationals (WNA) from all countries arriving in Indonesia until December 31, 2020, to follow all provisions in the Addendum of the Circular Letter of the Covid-19 Handling Task Force Number 3 of 2020, which includes:
- Showing a negative result from an RT-PCR test in the country of origin, valid a maximum of 2x24 hours before the departure time, and attached during the health screening in Indonesia.
- Upon arrival in Indonesia, undergoing a re-examination of the RT-PCR test, and if the result is negative, both WNI and WNA are required to quarantine for 5 days, starting from the date of arrival.
- After the 5-day quarantine, undergoing a re-examination of the RT-PCR test, and if the result is negative, visitors are allowed to continue their journey.
